MHADA Eyes 10,000 New Homes as Pune Board Completes Lottery for 792 Flats

Reinforcing its commitment to affordable housing, the MHADA Pune Housing and Area Development Board successfully completed the computerized lottery for 792 residential units under Phase II of its Tathawade Housing Project. The draw, conducted by Board Chairman Mr. Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, attracted 1,422 applications, reflecting sustained public demand for quality and affordable homes.

Speaking after the lottery, Mr. Patil outlined the Pune Board's future roadmap, stating that MHADA aims to construct nearly 10,000 additional housing units in the near future. He said that new housing projects are progressing on four acres of land in Shirur and 2.5 acres at Kharabwadi near the Chakan industrial belt. Simultaneously, affordable housing developments under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 are underway in Rohkal of Khed Taluka and Nere in Mulshi Taluka.

The Chairman further stated that MHADA has already completed the handover of homes under Phase I of the Tathawade project. The newly offered Phase II homes feature modern infrastructure, high-quality construction, and are competitively priced to make home ownership more accessible for middle- and lower-income families.

Among the 792 units offered through the lottery, 24 homes were reserved for the Lower Income Group and 768 for the Middle Income Group. The entire draw was livestreamed on MHADA's official YouTube channel, ensuring transparency in the allotment process.

The initiative aligns with MHADA's broader vision of expanding affordable housing opportunities across Maharashtra under the guidance of Vice President and CEO Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS). Through sustained project execution and transparent allotment mechanisms, MHADA continues to strengthen public confidence in its housing programmes.

Senior officials present during the event included Chief Officer Mr. Rahul Sakore, Executive Engineer Mrs. Manisha More, Deputy Chief Officer Mr. Rahul Shilimkar, members of the High-Level Monitoring Committee, Property Manager Mr. Tushar Jaybhave and other officials of the Pune Board.
