MHADA Masterlist Applications Open September 1
Online Registration Window Available Until September 20
The Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board (MBRRB), under the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), is opening a new online application window for eligible Masterlist beneficiaries seeking allotment of reconstructed residential units in Mumbai.
Applications will begin on September 1, 2026, at 10 AM and remain open until 11:59 PM on September 20, 2026. Eligible applicants can complete the process through MHADA’s official Masterlist portal.
The initiative is aimed at helping eligible tenants, occupants and legal heirs move forward in cases where permanent housing has remained pending because of redevelopment or building-related issues.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
The application window is intended for original tenants and occupants of cessed buildings who received vacation notices from the MBRRB, along with eligible legal heirs.
It also covers certain cases where buildings were vacated but redevelopment could not proceed because of narrow plots, land reservations, road widening requirements or other development restrictions.
Eligible occupants of reconstructed cessed buildings who have not received permanent homes because the redeveloped building did not have enough units may also qualify under applicable provisions. Such applicants are required to be residing in transit accommodation.
How to Complete the Online Application
Applicants can access the MHADA website, visit the Citizen Corner and select “Application for Masterlist.” They can also register directly through the official Masterlist portal.
After registration, applicants need to log in using their registered email address and password. MHADA advises applicants to keep their login information secure for future use.
Applicants should read the available instructions and user manual before filling out the form. They must provide the required details, upload supporting documents and submit the completed application online.
Physical Documents Must Follow Online Submission
Online registration is only one part of the process. After submitting the application, applicants must provide self-certified copies of the documents uploaded online to MHADA headquarters within 30 days.
Documents are to be submitted at Room No. 372, Second Floor, MHADA Headquarters, Griha Nirman Bhavan, Kalanagar, Bandra East, Mumbai-51.
Applicants should also retain their original documents and relevant records, as these may be required for verification during the hearing process.
Documents Applicants Should Keep Ready
Applicants should have an active mobile number and email address before beginning registration. The application process requires several supporting documents, including:
Recent color photograph in JPEG format
Signature or thumb impression image in JPEG format
Aadhaar Card in PDF format
Building vacation notice
Rent receipt for the previous building
Electricity bill
Transit accommodation allotment order
Transit accommodation possession receipt
Transfer Agreement
Other relevant supporting records
Checking documents before uploading them can help applicants avoid errors and delays during verification.
Allotment Will Follow Applicable MHADA Rules
Eligibility and allotment of reconstructed or redeveloped homes will be determined according to the MHADA Act, 1976, the relevant 1981 regulations and the latest government and MHADA policies.
Applicants must therefore satisfy the applicable conditions before their cases can proceed toward housing allotment.
Who Needs to Apply Again?
MHADA has clarified that applicants who have already been declared eligible by the Masterlist Committee do not need to submit another application.
People who have already submitted an online application also do not need to register again.
However, applicants whose earlier applications were submitted offline and are still pending must submit a fresh online application during the new application period.
